Øystein, Be sure to drink plenty of water I can smell them brain cells getting hot from here :-)

My view on centrifugal forces is that it will lockup the wheel (it's power that is) untill the centrifugal force is decreased. For a wheel turning vertical to the earth the centrifugal force would just magnify the force of gravity and increase friction.

I believe that the pendulum was used to counter-balance the wheel so that it would'nt bust the bearings but it would need to be mounted so it could not make a natural swing.

Neither one of my current designs use a pendulum but maybe thats the next step in the evolution of the machine. My next design is on paper only at this point but I believe that it will have a negative imbalance at 20 degrees and a positive imbalance at 240 degrees and a neutral imbalance at 80 degrees. I don't want to give the details at this time but I think that Vector Viper is on the right track which means that I will need to pick up the pace, now I'm getting thirsty :-)
